About me

Hi, my name is Mike. I’m just me, an ordinary, pretty average sort of guy with plenty of faults. I am 42 years old and for the last 24 of those years have been a Christian. I work at a secular job to pay the bills and provide for my wonderful wife, two daughters and son. We live in a little, crooked, 100-year-old cottage overlooking the harbour in Dunedin, New Zealand and attend a small Baptist church where I preach about once every six weeks.

The foundation of my life is Christ, and this blog is an attempt to discipline my thinking about the all-sufficiency of Christ, a term borrowed from Pastor John Piper, whose ministry has helped me greatly. I do not have any formal theological training, so while I try to stay Biblically centered, I cannot claim to be any sort of authority on Bible interpretation.

My personal “About Me” spot on the internet is over at mikemcarthur.me if you would like more assorted details about me.
