A shan depiction of the afterlife
For the Shan people the spirit world is very real and has a large influence in their lives. Using amulets, blessed objects, offerings of rice or incense and prayers from a spirit doctor, people try to ward of evil spirits and attract good spirits. In Christ we are freed completely from bondage to fear of spirits because He is Lord over all.
Pray for:
- Freedom for the Shan from having to appease spirits; that they would instead live lives of courage and peace through God’s Spirit (2 Timothy 1:7).
- Shan people to know Jesus, who alone has power of spirits (Colossians 1:15-16).
